Rooms- we booked a kids cabin suite which will sleep up to seven. It had a queen sized bed, full sized pull out couch in the main room and then an alcove area that was designed like a log cabin that has a set of bunks and a twin daybed. The little cabin area also had its own TV. The main room had a TV, fireplace, microwave, coffee pot, small fridge and a table with four chairs. Lots of space to move about. We also had our own private spacious balcony with two chairs and a small table. We had tons of towels and bath supplies in the room. Room was a great size and we heard minimal to no noise from our neighbors.
Resort- the resort itself is set up with a woodsy feel. The kids all receive wolf ears at check in which they loved. They have a kids corner where they can color and do art projects in the lobby. The center of the lobby is a huge clock tower with audio animatronic figures who come to life each evening for a show and storytime as well as a character meet and greet. The lobby also hosts a store with souveniers, a build a bear type machine and a restaurant.
Waterpark- the main draw of Great Wolf is its waterpark. Waterpark here is only open to registered guets which was so nice as many other resorts sell day passes. As a result it was never crowded and we barely waited in lines. They indoor park consists of three areas all connecting. There is a large wave pool, a climbing water structure with a couple of body slides, a kiddie structure with multiple slides for the little ones, two hot tubs, one for families and one for adults, three tube slides, a mat racer slide and then the big ride, the howlin tornado which is more of a thrill type ride. In addition there is a small outdoor park with a pool and several more slides. My kids range from 3 to 12 and they all loved it here. It had enough big and fast slides for my daredevils while still having fun stuff for the three year old.
Restaurants- there is no free breakfast at this resort. There is a restaurant that offers a daily breakfast buffet. It also offers a sit down menu the remainder of the day. We did not eat here. There is a sweet shop which has ice cream and coffee drinks. There is also an eatery in the waterpark with basic fast food that looked good. Finally they offer pizza pickup and delivery within in the resort.
Location- The resort is located right as you enter the Dells area from the south. There is a lot within walking or very easy driving. There is a large outlet mall right behind the hotel with a great variety of stores. There is also an amusement center with rides and a trampoline park we did not go to. Eateries within walking include mcdonalds, culvers, subway, noodles and co, taco bell, cracker barrel, famous daves. ITs just a short drive into the main dells which offers many more eateries and attractions. The front desk did offer attraction tickets at a 20% discount. Finally attached to the Great Wolf is MagicQuest which is an interactive wizard type game where you solve quests by finding clues and using our wand to activate or unlock things. Our boys absolutely loved this!
One final tip... when you book or when you arrive you can purchase a "paw pass". We bought two of them. Each pass gives you a magic quest game and wand, a build a bear, glitter tattoo, 12 oz candy cup, ice cream treat, goggles, souvenir 32 oz cup which allows free refills of soda and icees your whole stay, outlet mall coupon book and 20% off the amusement park next door. This was a fantastic deal and our four kids shared these passes and really enjoyed the extra treats!!!
