Hotel Details

The largest ship of all the Norwegian Cruise liners, the Norwegian Breakaway features extensive dining and entertainment options, the number of which is relatively rare on most cruise liners. The Norwegian Breakaway travels to the Bahamas. Bermuda, and the Caribbean. Departure ports vary between New York, New Orleans, and Miami depending upon the itinerary. This liner is best for those looking to go on extended vacations as the cruise embarks on 7, 10, 11, 14 and 15-night journeys. These more lengthy sailing dates are perfect for those looking to escape and for filling long school vacations.

Kids are free to swim the day away in the main pool on Deck 15 (complete with 4 hot tubs) or test their courage on one of the five towering waterslides. Note that children must be potty trained to use onboard pools. A children’s splash pool is located adjacent to the main pool where swim diapers are permitted. Those lucky enough to not fear heights will enjoy the Sky Trail, the onboard rope course complete with bungee trampoline and zip lines. Onboard kids clubs are also a hit, with daily activities and events. Younger kids (3-12) are welcome at Splash Academy, while older kids and teens (13-17) will find a place for themselves at Entourage.

For parents and older passengers, the Breakaway has more than enough entertainment options to keep you busy for a 15 day trip (so many, you may not even get to try them all!) Theater and traditional cruising entertainment fans will enjoy the 800 seat theater which host spectacular shows and music at no extra cost. Once a cruise for parents, the ship hosts a ‘Wine Lovers the Musical’ which offers wine tasting with entertainment. Adult-only sundecks and pools ensure splashing won’t ruin some relaxation time. The onboard casino and numerous lounges add up to an exciting date night will no kids. For parents, group babysitting is available on board for those in need of alone time.

Each ship has a variety of fun activities for the whole family, so be sure to check your ship before you cruise to view what's available. Whether you're 8 or 80, there's no reason not to have fun on your getaway at sea; before breaking off into everyone's activities, enjoy some time together by planning to meet for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This is the time to make memories and nothing could be more memorable than setting up a shore excursion for the whole family. Plan your shore excursions ahead of time for the best chance at booking your top selections.

*Please note that it is often cheaper to book two staterooms or two connecting cabins instead of one large stateroom suite - plus it gives you a second bathroom.*
