Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham--Charleston

This Microtel is very clean and though you have to book for 6 in the 2 queen suite (2 queens, one pull-out sofa), there are also two padded window seats that are long enough for a child to sleep on, so you can fit 8 (they are higher than a bed and thinner than a twin). There are 4 pillows per bed, so enough for everyone. There is room for a pack n play in the room, which also has two built-in desks (one chair), a mini-fridge (no freezer), microwave, hairdryer, and an alarm clock in both sides of the room (which is divided by a wall with an open archway between. There is one bathroom, 2 flat-screen TVs, and 2 air conditioning units. There are two closets, and also drawers under the window seats if you wanted storage.

The Microtel offers a continental breakfast, things like fruit, hot and cold cereal, coffee, tea, and juice, bagels, etc. It is enough to get some food in your stomach before you hit the road, but not as extensive as some more expensive hotels. The breakfast room is small, only three tables, so we took our food to our room which worked fine for us. Because this hotel suite was much less expensive than others in the area, I was fine with the more simple breakfast offerings.

I gave it 4 stars for amenities because there is no pool, but we were only there to sleep on our way through town. There is an exercise room, but we didn't use it. The parking lot was big enough to fit our 12 passenger van without a problem. Overall this hotel served our needs very well for the price, and we would stay here again if we needed a place to sleep while traveling through West Virginia.
