SpringHill Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront

This is a great location on a very nice beach. It was a little hectic arriving because there is not a lot of room to park and check-in. The complimentary valet, just one of the excellent staff members we met, guided our minivan over to the side so that others could pass through from the on-site parking garage.
The lobby is very nice though we didn’t spend much time there except for complimentary breakfast. The lines could get long for breakfast and seating is not unlimited so get down there early.
We stayed in the 1 bedroom (2 Queen) suite with a pullout sofa in the living room area. All six of us had plenty of room with the baby in a hotel supplied pack-n-play that we placed back in the bedroom. The room was good, but not overly nice. The carpet showed some wear and the sofa, while comfortable, had been the victim of what appeared to be a Kool-Aid incident. There was a table with seating for 4 and a desk. A small microwave and mini-fridge were available in the kitchenette.
Access to the beach and boardwalk were convenient. As with most of the Virginia Beach area, the beach itself was beautiful. There was a gradual slope underwater and there were decent waves for boogie boarding. The weather was perfect when we were there. The pool is very small as is the fitness room but we didn’t use either. If we had any rain or poor weather the pool and fitness room probably would have been packed and not very enjoyable.
The location is good with room to walk north and south along the boardwalk or Atlantic Ave. There were decent dining options nearby, but not great for a family. Most places tended toward seafood buffets or philly cheese steaks and my kids won’t eat either and we could only eat pizza so many times.
